“Zakatarzeni” is a podcast about what lies beneath the green fields of Qatar, where the FIFA World Cup will be played. These are discussions of the non-sporting aspects of this hugely controversial World Cup.
In the first episode Przemys³aw Pozowski from TOK FM and Dominik Wardzichowski from Sport.pl with their guest Mieszko Rajkiewicz from the New Europe Institute addresses the subject of sportwashing. That is how Qatar uses the World Cup to “wash” its image. He had until 12 years to do so, because the fact that this country will host the FIFA World Cup has been known since 2010.
What does Qatar want to hide under the green grass of the pitches, on which the footballers will soon be exhausted? What does he want to achieve by hosting an event that will be watched by hundreds of millions of fans around the world? Listen to the first episode:
The podcast will be hosted by Sport.pl journalists Dominik Wardzichowski and Dawid Szymczak, and Radio TOK FM sports journalist Przemysław Pozowski. All episodes of the podcast will be available on the sport.pl and tokfm.pl platforms, in the TOK FM mobile application, and on the TOK FM Select channel on the Spotify, Google Podcasts and iTunes platforms.
