The Chairman will assess requests to convene the Supervisory Board
Last week, Sejm Deputy Chairman Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL) called on the chairman to call a meeting of the supervisory board. As reported, Andrzej Duda spoke to NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday; He stressed that the President has information from key figures on the international scene and that all political forces speak with one voice regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Please share information with democratic opposition parties, please listen to our voice
– appealed Zgorzelski.
When asked if the SBN meeting would be convened, Szrot said the president will “evaluate the informal nominations that have been received to convene the National Security Council.”
He stressed that the subject of the convening of the Supervisory Board was “open”.
Requests are informal, it will be the personal decision of the president
– he underlined.
Conversations with world leaders
Szrot also noted that the president “is still having a series of discussions with world leaders.” In this context, he recalled that on Sunday the President would go to Rome for a few days, where he would participate in the World Food Forum.
On Monday, October 10, there was a massive Russian rocket attack on several towns in most parts of Ukraine. The target was the capital of Kyiv (for the first time since June this year), as well as, among others, Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnieper, Kryvyi Rih, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil , Lviv and Rivne. At least 12 people were killed and 89 injured.
Consultations after the attack on Ukrainian infrastructure
Immediately after the attacks, urgent consultations between the Polish and Ukrainian presidents took place. President Duda then tweeted that he had spoken with Volodymyr Zelensky “about the need to isolate Russia, which today has committed mass war crimes”.
Such crimes – I remind you – do not expire and are prosecuted throughout the world
– Duda pointed then.
Earlier, the Ukrainian President wrote about the conversation with the Polish President.
We coordinated our steps with the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda. We will work to consolidate international support, strengthen Ukrainian defense capabilities, rebuild what has been destroyed and increase Russia’s isolation
– Zelenski wrote on Twitter on Monday.
Duda also spoke to the NATO Secretary General on Monday about Russian bombings of civilian targets in Ukraine. On Tuesday, the President announced in Bratislava at the meeting of the Presidents of the Visegrad Group (V4) countries that he had conveyed to Stoltenberg the request of the President of Ukraine to convene an extraordinary meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government. The president then declared that the head of NATO “is very seriously considering convening such a meeting and it is very likely that it will take place next week”.
