Today the official inauguration of this year’s Polish Billiard Championships took place at the Hotel Binkowski in Kielce. Until December 16, the capital of the Świętokrzyskie voivodeship will be the mecca of billiards. – Today the eyes of everyone in billiards are on Kielce – says Grzegorz Kędzierski, vice-president of the Polish Billiards Association.
Recall that within the framework of the Polish championships of billiards, the participants come in three varieties: 8 balls, 9 balls and 10 balls, and each of them can win a gold medal. It is one of the highest-ranked national events in history, as at the table we will see, among others, current world champion Wojciech Szewczyk and vice-world champion Wiktor Zieliński.
The second competitor of the last World Cup competition, Daniel Macioł, and finally the European champions: Karol Skowerski, Tomasz Kapłan (both Nosan Kielce), Mieszko Fortuński and Konrad Juszczyszyn, as well as Mateusz Śniegocki, also participate in the competition. Of course, in addition to those mentioned in the fight for medals, the following will count: reigning Polish 8-ball champion Sebastian Batkowski, European Tag Team Champions Radosław Babica and Mariusz Skoneczny, and current Junior World Champion Szymon Kural. Among the ladies, the main favorites are the current European champion Oliwia Zalewska and the Polish champion Monika Ząbek.
– This competition is unique because we have the opportunity to see the cream of the billiards, not only in Poland or Europe, but all over the world. They are the best of the best, which is why the eyes of people from all corners of the globe are now turning to Kielce to see the best billiards played by Polish athletes – emphasizes Grzegorz Kędzierski.

The event is under the honorary patronage of Anna Krupka, State Secretary at the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, Andrzej Bętkowski, Marshal of Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Bogdan Wenta, Mayor of Kielce, Zbigniew Koniusz, Świętokrzyskie Voivode, and the Polish Olympic Committee team.
