In 2018, trade between Russia and China surpassed $100 billion for the first time, after which the two leaders set themselves the goal of doubling it by 2024. And after Vladimir Putin and Xi met Jinping in early February, a new goal emerged – 250 billion dollars a year.

Deliveries, among others via the ESPO pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean) and transportation from Russian ports countries in Europe and the Far East, amounted to nearly 8.42 million tonnes, China’s main customs administration reported in June.
Six companies were placed under restrictions for “supporting the Russian military or a military industrial base” by supplying goods to sanctioned Russian entities.
