At the gala on the occasion of the Day of culture and sport of the district, players and coaches received from the starost of Nowy Sącz Marek Kwiatkowski financial rewards. In this way, the Starost, as well as the Board of Directors and the Poviat Council, appreciated their achievements this year. Every year, the county budget allocates funds for tasks related to the promotion of physical culture and sports in the Nowy Sącz region. This year it was 238,000 PLN.

Recently, we commissioned a sports hall with a shooting range at the school complex in Marcinkowice and sports facilities at the secondary school complex in Krynica-Zdrój. Next year, in Marcinkowice, we will build an outdoor, athletic part, and thus a Poviat sports center will be created. We do all of this for students and residents, creating opportunities for them to play sports.

The starost of Nowy Sącz supervises 245 associations of physical culture and sports operating in the poviat of Nowy Sącz. This year, it received honorary patronage of 10 national and international sports events, in addition, grants were awarded to 19 associations for the organization of 22 sports events in which players from the Sądecczyzna region participated. This year, 80,000 was spent on grants. zloty.

Within the framework of concern for the development of physical culture and sports and raising the level of sports training of children and young people, the Poviat Council awarded prizes to the best sportsmen of the Nowy Sącz region (a total of PLN 36,000).
