Ukrainian startup CareTech Human wins 20,000 euros

Five startups took part in the Infoshare startup competition finals – Ukrainian CareTech Human, Estonian Ender Turing, Helgen Technologies from Ireland, MAB Robotics from Poland and Dutch Scentronix. All presented themselves to a jury made up of investors and business experts. During the competition, ideas were evaluated in terms of business potential, innovation, team and presentation itself. The total prize pool of the competition was 30,000 euros. The awards were funded by the President of the City of GdaƄsk.

What problem does a startup solve?

CareTech Human presents a revolutionary solution for remote monitoring of urological parameters to enable early detection of urinary diseases and monitor their recurrence. This is especially important for men struggling with an enlarged prostate and overactive bladder syndrome. There are about 14 million in the world.

The principle of operation is simple: the user receives a device and fixes it on the toilet bowl. From then on, the platform automatically screens for many urological diseases, adapting to the habits of the user. The device is available in several versions. One of them is also interested in biomarkers of volatile organic compounds in human urine.

500+ startups and 100+ VCs from around the world

– This year, 466 startups from 62 countries around the world participated in the competition. The largest number of projects came from Poland (136), Great Britain (36), Germany (28) and Spain (17). The most submitted ideas are solutions from the healthcare, medtech and wellness sectors. The e-commerce, finance, banking and insurance sectors were also a large group of participants – says Grzegorz Borowski, CEO of Infoshare.

In addition to participating in the competition, the startups present at the event were able to connect with more than 100 investors from around the world – business angels, VC and CVC funds, including Tera Ventures, Huge Thing, Senovo, Lunar Ventures, FONGIT or APX. In addition to the Startup Contest, they were also to be found at the Virtual Startup Expo and on the dedicated Matchmaking platform. The 1:1 fixtures were held online from Monday, and from Thursday live in a dedicated area at Amber Expo.

This year’s 16th Infoshare conference attracted over 6,000 people. attendees.
