September 23 – what an unusual party?
September 23 falls International Day of Sign Language. According to the World Association of the Deaf, there are approximately 72 million deaf or dumb people in the world. In total, these people speak about 300 different sign languages. There is also an international sign language which is used when traveling and meeting deaf people from other countries.
Except that:
- Every year, we can also celebrate September 23 Native American Day. The popular term “Indian” from the native people of America “owed” the error of Christopher Columbus, who thought he had circumnavigated the globe and reached India on the other side, so he called the people of the continent. So, even if completely wrong, the term “Indian” is still frequently used today to refer to America’s true hosts. Today, on the other hand, this day can be used to better understand the cultural heritage of Native Americans and to pay homage to their tradition and their rich, often difficult history.
- In addition, September 23 falls love letter day. This is the perfect opportunity to express your feelings towards another person. For example, you can write a love note and give it to a loved one or loved one. In the age of ubiquitous email and social media, a real handwritten letter with an expression of adoration is not only a perfect gift and expression of love, but also a great keepsake that can be kept in your personal archives.
- September 23 is also redhead celebration day. On this day, you can show your support and friendship to those who can boast of this rare hair color. After all, each of us would like to hear words of support and friendship from time to time – it’s the perfect excuse for redheads!
- The same day also takes place Vegetarian Hug Day. Transition following a meatless diet is not easy and involves many sacrifices. So even if you don’t share this worldview, take advantage of this day of the year and give a vegetarian hug to let him feel your support. Who knows, why not try something meatless yourself?
