Visitors to an amusement park in the United States have started going backwards on a high-speed carousel due to a malfunction. Park staff were unable to stop the cars on their own. Only technicians came to the aid of passengers stuck in the cable car and cut off the power supply to the attraction. The media released recordings showing this dangerous event.
A dangerous incident occurred on Sunday evening at Rye Playland amusement park in the US state of New York. A carousel with passengers called Music Express began spinning backwards at high speed due to a technical failure.
Amusement park staff attempted to stop the attraction using the emergency switch, but their efforts were ineffective. A technical team was called to the scene and managed to stop the attraction by cutting off the power. Witnesses to the event describe that the entire action lasted approximately 10 minutes.

It went viral on social media footage showing terrified passengers spinning on high-speed carousel. “That’s why I don’t use any attractions in amusement parks,” explains one of the witnesses.
“It’s crazy!” ; “It’s ripe for a trial” – we hear other voices in the recording.

Rye Playland said no one was injured in the incident. Theme park’s general manager, Jeff Davis, emphasized in a statement to News12 Westchester that “visitor safety is top priority“.
