Ukrainian Prime Minister: Russia is no longer a peace-loving country for a long time
– Russia has not been a peace-loving state for a long time, therefore it does not meet the main criterion of the UN. He is cynically abusing his right of veto in the Security Council. It blocks decisions that go against its aggressive policy. Because Ukraine rightly raises the issue of Russia’s exclusion not only from the Security Council, but also from the UN, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in a speech on Tuesday.
Politician noted that 31 years had passed since the fall of the Soviet Union.
– Its successor, the Russian Federation, has usurped a seat on the UN Security Council. By circumventing the Organization’s Charter, Russia’s membership of the Security Council was imposed on the international community. Unfortunately, the community was silent at that time. Today you cannot be silent – said Szmyhal.
The Ukrainian Prime Minister called on the world to show solidarity with Ukraine’s position. “We believe in the victory of the force of international law and we are making every effort to that end,” he said.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army has shelled four Russian command posts and six troop concentration centers.
