Kydryński is a songwriter, record producer, concert and festival organizer.
Since June 2020 he has been leading his own show “Pora Siesty” on Radio Nowy Świat. Since 1992, he has traveled across Africa. Marcin Kydryński published e.g. in “National Geographic” as first author and photographer, Washington licensed the cover material in a local edition.
Today, his reports appear mainly in “Viva” and “Kontynenty”. Since 2010 he has been leading photographic expeditions and workshops, mainly in African countries, e.g. twice in Namibia, South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania. He wrote several dozen songs for Anna Maria Jopek and produced several albums with her, most of which went gold and platinum.
Marcin Kydryński was honored with the “Ordem de Merito” medal by the President of Portugal for promoting the music of that country. Since 2011, he has been leading the Siesta festival in Gdańsk, as well as a series of concerts Siesta w Drodze, which refer to his radio broadcasts. The annual “Siesta” albums regularly become bestsellers, landing at the top spots of OLiS.
The journalist is also the author of the books: “Fall is a Form of Flight: Metro On Broadway” (1993), “The Moment Before Twilight” (1996) and the award-winning book “Under the Sun” by Arkady Fiedler (1999 ), “Biel. Notes from Africa” (2016). In 2013, National Geographic published the book-album “Lisbon. Music of My Streets”, and in 2017 in “Edipresse Księg” – a new updated edition of the title. In 2020, a book called “Dal”, and in March 2022, the last article devoted to memories of a trip to Asia – “About the East” was released.
On the East is an intimate book, sometimes with an ostentatious and poignant honesty. The author calls it his spiritual autobiography. He returns not only to the Orient, but also to the world of childhood, first loves, artistic revelations and the drama of the loss of loved ones.
I believe that the personal anthology of Eastern thought, quoted on this occasion, will bring you, in these difficult days and to come, some consolation – this is how Marcin Kydryński writes about the book.
The meeting with Marcin Kydryński around the book “On the East” will take place on Wednesday (23.11), at 6 p.m. at the Podlaska library. Free entry !
