Wojciech Newicki: It was a very good year for me

I also had no injuries and no serious injuries. I am happy that it was well worked out and translated into such results. It makes me very happy. Two medals this season are the motivation to keep working. Next year is the world championship, and in two years the Olympics will be held in Paris. I hope that health it will continue to add and I will be able to prepare myself well to be able to throw as far as possible announced the athlete.

At the world championship in Eugene Newicki he lost to Fajdek, who has had a monopoly of triumph in this event for the past decade.

“Everyone knows we are the best in the world”

I won gold this season ME, and Paweł the World Cup gold. We exchange at the top. I am very happy that it is so. It is also a kind of motivation for me. I always try to compete with Paweł and fight for the best results. That’s why we mix it this way. As Polish hammers, we pave the way to world and European championships. Everyone must take us into account. This is a great promotion for our country. Everybody knows we’re the best in the world – admitted the Olympic champion from Tokyo, where Fajdek was third in 2021.

When asked if they talk during competitions, Newicki replied: We concentrate on work, but still try to exchange two sentences. However, the focus is on the beginning.

Since last year’s triumph at the Olympics, the lifetime record for a player from Podlasie Białystok is 82.52m. He already has two Olympic medals, because in 2016 he won brown in Rio de Janeiro.

Olympic medals have changed a lot in my life. I appreciate that I was able to get them. I used to think that I would be able to achieve this. I just wanted to compete in the Olympics and managed to bring home two medals. I’m proud of it, but…we’re still working – he mentioned.

As he admitted, the Olympic successes did not significantly affect his situation, including financially, although it was the crowning achievement of many years of work.

I had my sponsors for years and I thank them wholeheartedly for being with me and wanting to cooperate with me. But I am also open to other suggestions and will be happy if anyone wants to join my team he stated.

He announces that he will try to fight the P. world titlebecause it is quadruple medalist of this test, but it misses the gold to him.

I’ll try to fight for that missing gold, but we’ll see if it works. Now I’m back to training. We’re focusing on technique and building the core strength we need for the long casts during launch season in May. The most important thing is to prepare for the next season. If I am healthy, I will fight for the best results and places – he stated.

There is always something to improve in technology, there is always something to work on, no matter how far you throw it. The perfect throw does not exist. We strive to achieve this, but there will always be gaps. The goal is to eliminate these errors. The elements that I manage to improve result in better projections – added Nowicki.

Record holder Polish in the hammer throw is Fajdek, who in 2015 at the Janusz Kusociński Memorial in Szczecin reached 83.93 m. If I could improve the Polish record, that’s good, but I’m not focusing on it. “
