Karol Karnowski, a longtime employee of the World Bank and currently a board member of Ukrainian state-owned companies, harshly assessed Jacek Kurski’s transition from TVP to this international institution. In the “Newsroom” program, he directly stated that the former head of Telewizja Polska has “no” skills and “has no idea” of the functioning of the World Bank, where Kurski was appointed by decision of the head of the NBP. Karnowski paid particular attention to the circumstances in which the former president of TVP came to this international institution. – Kurski has no qualifications to work at the World Bank. He made public television, to which we all contribute 2 to 3 billion, something like a government, like PKP. They take our money, they go into debt, they buy artists. They use a kind of mechanism that can be called political corruption. Then it leads to the fact that a guy who has no idea what the World Bank is, what development policy looks like, is a representative of this bank because he got this job from President Glapiński , which made that today in Poland we have 17% inflation, because he forgot that interest rates had to be increased in 2019, because he thought that he was serving the government and President Kaczyński. I don’t know if he’s working or showing up at the office, it’s just – it’s our climate, it’s our norm. Maybe he will change, maybe he will start working, but a man who has no experience and did TV “propaganda” in the worst possible style, hated whole groups of people, should not be a representative of Poland in an international institution, such as the World Bank – assessed Karnowski.
