The scandal in the European Parliament has exposed the hypocrisy of the left-liberal majority which, attacking Poland under false allegations of violation of the rule of law, is itself embroiled in corruption on an unknown scale in the history, underlines PiS deputy Jadwiga Wiśniewska in an interview with PAP.

“The corruption scandal shows that it is darkest under the lamppost. It turns out that where the heart of European democracy beats, and that is how the European Parliament wants to be perceived, corruption has flourished on a scale unprecedented in history” – regrets Jadwiga Wiśniewska.

“During the investigation, more and more politicians from the left of the political scene are mentioned who have allowed themselves to be corrupted. There are more than 60 suspects. This exposes the hypocrisy of the left-liberal majority in the EP, because it was the Socialists who most ardently and ruthlessly attacked Poland under all pretexts, always under false accusations, allegedly in violation of the rule of law.

He points out that disturbing new threads of scandal are popping up almost every day.

“Today we can see, as if through a lens, what the rule of law and democracy look like in their version. Media reports that Spanish MEP Juan Fernando López Aguilar, chairman of the LIBE committee, who deserved the infamous name of chief critic of Poland and the Polish government, may also be involved in practice. There are also indications that the mechanism for linking the EU budget with the rule of law has been created by the participants in the procedure” – underlines the deputy.

“As part of this scandal, legitimate questions and suspicions also arise about Russia’s corruption of European politicians, which was also highlighted in the US State Department report, stating that the Russians transferred at least 300 million dollars to politicians in recent years” – summarizes Jadwiga Wisniewska.

Every day, the European and world media reveal new threads of the corruption scandal in the European Parliament, the main character of which is the former vice-president of the European Parliament, the Greek socialist Eva Kaili. However, other high-ranking politicians, mainly from Italy and Belgium, are also involved in the scandal known as Qatargate.
