Stanisław Oślizło on Pelé: rightly called the best footballer in the world

According to the former Polish representative, Stanisław Oślizły, the late Pelé is rightly considered the best football player in history. “He was also a very nice man.”

The “king of football” died in a hospital in Sao Paulo, where in September 2021 he underwent surgery to remove a colon tumor and then he was treated in oncology.

Oślizło remembers the game between Brazil and Poland

– I took part in the Brazil-Poland match, which was played in Rio de Janeiro, at the Maracana. It was 1966 and our team had lost 1-2. Our rival was the current world champion and was preparing for the next World Cup. Poland’s only goal was also scored by the late player (Jan Liberda – PAP). My job was to keep tabs on the best player in the world on the pitch. Please remember how he moved on the pitch, how he had the ability to position himself properly on the pitch, the former player told PAP. Gornik Zabrze.

He recalled that during this meeting, he had completed the task 100%. Pelé didn’t score, but other Brazilians did twice.

A sad end to the year 2022

– I feel great regret. It’s a shame that another great player is gone. After all, Andrzej Iwan died yesterday, and today he – said Oślizło.

He added that if it weren’t for the distance, he would definitely go to Pele’s funeral to pay his respects. (PORRIDGE)
