Germany “owes us – it must pay”

On Sunday, PiS Chairman Jarosław Kaczyński, in a meeting with residents of Nowa Sól (Lubuskie), referring to Germany’s compensation for losses suffered by Poland in World War II, said ” they owe us – they have to pay”.

They started the war, they committed incredible crimes, they also terribly humiliated even the Poles who survived – they used them. They did it as a whole nation, because very often Poles who, for example, were forced to work on farms, where they worked in an extremely filthy way, were humiliated and treated worse than animals

– said the President of PiS.

According to Kaczyński, Germany was treated “with extreme leniency” when it lost territories in the East, which, in accordance with the provisions of the Potsdam conference, were granted to Poland as recovered territories.

If Germany had been treated as she was in many plans and formulated not in the Soviets but in the West, she would today be a very, very poor country and far fewer in number than she is . They were treated with extreme kindness. Let them thank God for that alone. They owe us – they owe us

he noted.

Kaczyński recalled that the territories received by Poland had been heavily damaged during the fighting and as a result of Russian looting.

On September 1, a report on the losses suffered by Poland as a result of German aggression and occupation during World War II was presented, which shows that the total amount of losses is more than PLN 6 billion 220 billion PLN 609 million. The report was prepared by a team operating during the previous legislature, led by PiS MP Arkadiusz Mularczyk.

At the beginning of October, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau signed a diplomatic note on compensation for damage caused by Germany as a result of German aggression and occupation in 1939-1945, in which the Republic of Poland requests, inter alia, compensation for material and immaterial losses in the amount of 6 billion 220 billion 609 million PLN.
